The aim of the ECOTEACH project – which Innoquality Systems is a proud member of – is to develop, test and adopt innovative practices and new curricula, courses, learning materials and tools for the acquisition of skills and competences in science and maths for disadvantaged schools and students through effective and innovative teaching and assessment models of Environment-Based Learning.

The project features a fantastic consortium, with partners Directorate of Secondary Education of Lasithi (DSEL) with partners from, DISRUPTIA and S.L.U from Spain, Plataforma HABITAT from Spain, the Governorship of Istanbul (GOI) from Turkey and ourselves from Ireland

As work continues as part of the Ecoteach project, some of the following are existing resources which have been identified in research conducted as part of the project and output development.

The Learning about Ecosystems and Forests (LEAF) programme is designed for colleges and schools and encourages environmental education through awareness raising among teachers, soon-to-be teachers, students, and the wider community. LEAF is an ambitious educational, restoration programme, restoring grounds and educating about the important role healthy, resilient ecosystems play, while meaningfully contributing to biodiversity, climate and well-being goals. LEAF focuses on educating the educators across all educational institutions (primary, secondary and third level) about the importance of healthy resilient ecosystems. The Environmental Education Unit of the national organisation “An Taisce” runs the LEAF programme nationally in Ireland.
