Assess Plus Project Update

As part of the ongoing Assess Plus project, work is ongoing into the development of O3 – a “practical and innovative ICT-based tool designed to to evaluate competences on Skills Audits in Adult Education included in the European Framework of Reference.”

To date, INQS has undertaken a wide range of research and examinations into the potential approaches to such an app with a view to supporting the user experience and to develop a resource which will be of use to the target audience, to project beneficiaries and to stakeholders.

As Development of the app has progressed, a number of key decisions have been agreed by the partnership around the app

When:
The Web App would prepare target audience members to prepare for and apply (as per IO1 – plan, design, deliver) a skills audit – ideally prior to meeting with the beneficiary.

What:
The Web app would provide the target audience member with the requisite resources and the specific knowledge relevant to their country, to communication approaches and tools for the individual under audit, to specific skills & competences for a specific occupation or area to be audited , to relevant follow-up resources, platforms and steps.

How:
After the IO2 training, via the web app, users (target audience of Counsellors, Guidance personnel, Assessors, Validation practitioners) etc can be offered guidance and resources to help them scaffold the actual process of planning, designing and developing a skills audit for a specific Audience.

Where:
Given the suggested function of the tool as outlined, it is felt that this process is best accessed via a browser given the amount of information to be presented, the requirement to access additional reading material as necessary, the requirement to access additional URLs, etc.

Also

That the app in question would serves as an assessment activity for the entire “Assess Plus” Training process – mainly:

  1. Undertaking the training (IO2) and generating the knowledge, skills & competence for facilitating/ supporting skills audits
  2. Putting it into practice with appropriate scaffolding, reflection, resource-gathering, etc. (IO3)
  3. Utilising specific tasks practical to real-world best practice for skills audits (IO4)
