Assess Plus Project Update – July 2021

As part of the ongoing Assess Plus project, work is ongoing into the development of O3 – a “practical and innovative ICT-based tool designed to to evaluate competences on Skills Audits in Adult Education included in the European Framework of Reference.”. To date, INQS has undertaken a wide range of research and examinations into the potential approaches to such an app with a view to supporting the user experience and to develop a resource which will be of use to the target audience, to project beneficiaries and to stakeholders.

As outlined in a previous post, if we consider that Assess Plus is a project representing and supporting a teaching process (through the excellent Assess Plus VOOC), the IO3 app should serve a purpose which is closely linked to:

  1. Supporting or enhancing the IO2 training
  2. Following completion of IO2, but prior to applying what was learned
  3. Supporting or enhancing the application of what was learned

As an additional/ alternative Education/ Training tool for students

Primary Audience:

Target Audience and Beneficiaries

Context of use:

TA: To be used as a support for teaching which can be prescribed to students to help them deepen their learning and understanding of how to teach about digital skills for online accessible tourism

B: To be used as a means to build upon the training provided by the TA (teacher) by providing additional training materials, activities and assessments to deepen their learning and understanding of digital skills for online accessible tourism

Quote:

(TA) “I want to further prep beneficiaries to actively engage in using, creating and supporting digital online accessible tourism”/ (B) “I want to get further education on digital skills for online accessible tourism”

Function:

To offer additional more in-depth training focused on practical application of specific elements  related to digital skills and concepts for online accessible tourism. This could present relevant information for a student similar to areas covered in the IO2 campus, or could look to offer more specific training focused on deeper application of what was presented to teachers in IO2.

Comparative Solution:

A good potential example of this type of approach can be seen with self-paced learning apps such as the Codeacademy App – https://www.codeacademy.com
