The FungiPreneurs Project began in 2022 with an aim to support the social inclusion of vulnerable groups in rural areas through environmental awareness about the importance of fungi for the ecosystems and the marketable value of mycological resources, promoting behaviour change, green skills development and responsible and sustainable social entrepreneurship.
To do so, seven European adult education providers, experts in working with adult educators working with vulnerable people in rural areas throughout Europe, developed digital education and digital solutions applied to develop training and resources from six countries. Partners were ECM Ingenieria Ambiental (Spain), Disruptia (Spain), META4 (Austria), Mindshift – Talent Advisory (Portugal), and Centre For Social Innovation – CSI (Cyprus)
- To this end, the project has developed a wide range of resources, including:
- A Training Curriculum on social inclusion by environmental awareness and social entrepreneurship through mycology
- A Virtual CAMPUS, that includes
- An Online Instructional Guide on Digital Competencies for Virtual Learning;
- A set of structured Training Modules
- A set of Virtual Open Online Courses (VOOC)
- The FUNGIPRENEURS Training Path Web App
- A set of guidelines (toolkit) providing functional and interactive techniques, tools, exercises and activities that adult educators will use in their work with vulnerable groups in rural areas
Having been fully piloted and evaluated, the project has had a direct positive impact on:
- Partners and organizations who were involved in the project activities have improved their skills and knowledge
- The adult educators working with vulnerable groups in rural areas.
- The mycology and social innovation education sector will can now count on new instruments to improve the provision of mycology adapted to different assessment contexts and to the needs of the European market.
- An additional audience includes social entrepreneurship and social innovation bodies who are seeking to become more effective in service provision, but who are not sure how to do so.
