FungiPreneurs – Interesting mycology projects

The objective of the FungiPreneurs project is to support the social inclusion of vulnerable groups in rural areas through environmental awareness about the importance of fungi for the ecosystems and the marketable value of mycological resources, promoting behaviour change, green skills development and responsible and sustainable social entrepreneurship.

The project features a fantastic consortium, with partners from ECM Ingenieria Ambiental (Spain), Disruptia (Spain), META4 (Austria), Mindshift – Talent Advisory (Portugal), and Centre For Social Innovation – CSI (Cyprus)

As work is ongoing on the project, INQS has recently been investigating similar European projects focused on the mycology in order to better understand the area and the range of available resources and research in this space.

Job shadowing in Fungi Education is an Erasmus+ project by the Siolta Chroi co-operative society limited which is focused on a 60 day job shadowing mobility involving between Ireland and Greece to investigate learning about how fungi operate in ecosystems; Lab skills required for fungi based project; How to use indigenous fungi for projects; How to measure impact of fungi projects ; How to deliver projects in a citizen science context; How to safely use the materials for implementation of fungi project. ; Context-dependent design for a fungi remediation project e.g. post-fire versus oil spill.
