Renouval Project update – IO3 Development

The last two decades some traditional crafts have declined due to mass production and rising consumerism, leading to a devaluing of craft as a practice and reduced sharing of traditional crafting skills. Others have evolved, embracing the digital age, particularly in marketing their products and engaging with new clients, collaborators and audiences. Based on this, there is a clear need to: transfer the know-how of the older generations of craft practitioners to a new generation of craft learners, on one hand, and improve the use of digital technologies in the sector, what requires to improve the digital competences of both practitioners and learners, on the other. The aim of RENOUVAL project (https://renouval-project.eu/) is to design new training pathways in craft sectors based on intergenerational learning, putting in contact craft professionals with low-qualified young adults.

Work in the project is ongoing in relation to IO3 – the digital assessment tool. To this end, we have a quick update based on some of the steps involved in the creation of an IO3 prototype. This is aimed at agreeing the key steps and process for users applying the IO3 Digital Assessment. Based on agreement on this, development will focus on enabling these steps.

Register and Log in
Users log in to the Renouval IO2/ IO3 portal after registering for an account.
Users then receive a confirmation email and are able to access the full back-end of the Renouval Platform
Note: this is only for teachers, students do not require access

Users can select the relevant tool which they wish to make use of.

There is a link between the 2 platforms, however in order to use the Digital Assessment Tool, they should use the gamification tool first

Select Challenge
As IO2 is driven primarily by the “Challenges” presented to learners and which learners undertake, the way in which users will navigate IO3 will focus on the available challenges
